Charles F. Wasker is of counsel to Wasker, Dorr, Wimmer & Marcouiller, P.C.
A graduate of the Drake University Law School, he began his career as a developer and businessman and has been in the practice of law 50 years.
Mr. Wasker has an extensive history of service on community boards and commissions, including the following: Greater Des Moines Chamber Federation (1991 Chamber Federation Chair; Vice-Chair for all of the departments); a patron/member of the Iowa Citizens Action Network; and General Counsel for the Homebuilders Association of Iowa. Currently, Mr. Wasker is on the Advisory Committee for the Iowa Wetlands and Riparian Area Conservation Plan and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Viability Strategy for Public Water Safety Advisory Group.
Mr. Wasker's past community service includes a 12-year tenure as a member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (1982-1993) having served as Chairman of the Board for three years; a member of the Board of Directors of the Iowa Housing Corporation; past President of the Polk County Bar Association (1979-80); a member of the Iowa State Bar Association Board of Governors (1980-1984); and a Commissioner of the Supreme Court's Grievance Commission (1979-80).
Some of the awards Mr. Wasker has received include: Drake Law School Alumni of the Year (1991); Homebuilders Association of Iowa - 1991 President's Award; National Swine/Pork Research Center - Award for Distinguished Service; and the Commander's Award for Public Service, Department of the Army (1991).
Mr. Wasker and his wife, Elizabeth Ann, reside in West Des Moines. They have three children: Cynthia Marie Zitterkopf of Leawood, Kansas; and Charles F. Wasker, Jr. and Lisa Ann Stevenson, both of San Diego, California.
